I tend to run Pathfinder 1 campaign games, based on Adventure Paths published by Paizo – and I favour the earlier APs.  That is partly because I have those and know the settings and partly because they fit comfortably with my version of fantasy.  So I ask my players to build characters with the races and classes that were around at the time those  APs were published –  it means I have to do much less work when I run the APs  :}   Mainly the CRB and the APG –  although I also like the Magus,  because I have always felt that class should be there. While Gunslinger is in the permitted list, you should note that in most of those settings firearms are rare, and you will find that there are not many firearms, or people who can manufacture or repair firearms, in the setting.

For the basic build, 20-point points-buy or roll on the RPoL Dice roller.  Two traits – although one must be a campaign trait for whichever AP we play.  No disadvantages, etc.  And no evil alignments – I don’t mind evil tendencies, but I don’t enjoy GM for a bunch of evil psychopaths  :}
